The first Major Events Industry Awards celebrated the successes of MEI Members, “best of breed” companies working in major sporting events. The Awards ceremony took place as part of the inaugural Major Events Summit held in London on 26 & 27 October 2015.

Members including Selex ES were recognised for their achievements, innovation and services to major events. Uniquely, two UK government departments also received Awards for their continued support to companies and helping them to access major events opportunities.

The Awards were designed by MEI Member Touch of Ginger, who also designed the Rugby World Cup 2015 medals and the Queen’s Baton for the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. The Awards themselves replicate an IAAF standard relay baton, keeping to the sporting theme.

In attendance at the Awards dinner too were Sports ‘legends’ including Graham Gooch, Alvin Martin and Steve Sedgley adding a bit of stardust to the event.
