About LCFC Women
LCFC Women was formed in 2004 and competes in the Barclays Women's Super League, the country's top division for women's football. It was acquired by King Power International in August 2020, coinciding with the 10-year anniversary of King Power's takeover of Leicester City Football Club. The team had professional status for the first time in August 2020 and earned promotion to the top division as FA Women's Championship winners in their first season. King Power's long-term commitment to the development of women's football in the area continued with LCFC Women moving football operations into Belvoir Drive in January 2021 to become the only women's team in the country with a dedicated elite facility, while an Academy pathway was announced in June 2021. In August 2021, it was confirmed that LCFC Women would play most of their home league games at King Power Stadium.
