Big Green Coach Provides Electric Coach Service for Tottenham Hotspur FC Fans

10th December 2024

Big Green Coach, the UK’s leading provider of sustainable coach travel to major events, continues to promote greener event travel by utilising its first electric vehicle throughout the 2024-2025 football season. The addition of a zero-emissions vehicle to the official Tottenham Hotspur Football Club coach services provides a major advancement in the eco-friendly transportation of sports fans.

The Yutong TCe12 electric coach, powered by a 281kw battery with a range of 200 miles per charge, has been seamlessly integrated into Big Green Coach’s regional network since the season’s launch. Fans travelling from Maidstone, Hempstead Valley, Gillingham, and Dartford Bluewater to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium can now enjoy greener travel options, perfectly aligned with the Club’s sustainability ambitions.

Since 2021, Big Green Coach has been working with UK charity Onboard.earth to offset carbon emissions and invest in environmental restoration. Recognising that carbon offsetting is not the only factor in achieving its sustainability objectives, Big Green Coach’s strategy includes and encourages the adoption of electric vehicles to its network.
Danny Newby, Director of Big Green Coach, highlighted the significance of this initiative:

“As an advocate for environmental sustainability, I’m thrilled to see electric coaches becoming a reality in our network. Tottenham Hotspur, recognised as the Premier League’s greenest club for the fifth consecutive year, is the perfect partner to showcase this innovation. By deploying these electric vehicles for Spurs supporters, we’re setting a new standard for sustainable event travel. We look forward to extending this initiative to other events, including festivals and concerts.”

Tottenham Hotspur Football Club has been a long-standing advocate for sustainable practices, and the partnership with Big Green Coach is now in its sixth year. Donna-Maria Cullen, THFC’s Executive Director, added:

“Our Club remains committed to providing fans with sustainable travel options to reduce matchday car use and emissions. The addition of Big Green Coach’s electric vehicle service across four key supporter heartland routes exemplifies our shared goal of making Tottenham Hotspur Stadium a green travel destination as we continue on our journey to net zero.”

The 2024-2025 season marks Big Green Coach’s sixth season as Tottenham Hotspur Football Club’s and Stadium’s official transport supplier. The eco-friendly travel options provided by Big Green Coach play a crucial role in reducing the carbon footprint associated with matchday travel, supporting the Club’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.
