IESF Announces New Stratgey for Expansion with China

5th August 2021

IESF and MEI Partner to Support the Development of Esports in China

The International ESports Federation (IESF) and Major Events International (MEI) are delighted to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding to deliver the development of Esports in China.

At a time where the Esports industry is growing exponentially year on year, the aim is to support the IESF strategy for greater growth in China. This involves wider participation in Esports; hosting more competitions and creating a stronger brand presence. The IESF will use the MEI local presence in China in a jointly branded team to achieve these objectives.

Commenting on the partnership, IESF Secretary General, Boban Totovski, said, “MEI supports Rights Holders and Host Cities by aligning them with their commercial company network. This eco-system provides a platform for our development and engagement in China and is a formula that IESF embraces, enhancing our own philosophy of collaboration and partnership. This is the reason why we decided to choose MEI as our support partner for such a strategic market as China.”

Dennis Mills, CEO MEI, said, “We have been incredibly impressed with the ambitions and clearly articulated global strategy of the IESF leadership team. Building on their support for our Summits and helping them identify sponsors for their own activities, this China-focused project is a logical next step in our relationship. MEI routine operations in China involve support for significant sports related infrastructure, effective event hosting as well as attracting iconic World Championships to host cities. So, the IESF relationship is entirely compatible with these existing capabilities.

International ESports Federation

IESF is the only International Federation with proper membership structure, responsible for the development of Esports worldwide. It was founded in 2008 by 9 nations and is expecting more than 120 nations for the next World Championship event that will be held in November 2021 at Tel Aviv (Israel).

IESF is promoting Esports as a true sport beyond barriers, working on behalf of its member nations from all across the globe.
