Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme (FIM)

Project:

Host City Identification and Strategic Partnerships for FIM Events

Timeline:

2022

Objective

FIM engaged MEI to streamline the process of identifying and securing host cities for its major events, including the Annual Congress, Awards Dinner, and Commissioners Conference. Additionally, MEI was tasked with building connections with commercial partners and elevating FIM's market presence through targeted marketing and engagement.

Services Provided by MEI

Host City Identification

  • MEI developed a pipeline of cities interested in hosting FIM’s major events. For 2024, Liverpool was selected to host the General Assembly and Awards, reflecting the city’s appeal and capability as an international event destination.

  • Managed the Expression of Interest (EOI) process, provided ongoing support to candidate cities, and delivered decision briefs to facilitate FIM’s city selection.

Commercial Partnerships Development

  • Introduced FIM to potential commercial partners with innovative proposals, including cost-saving solutions, operational enhancements, and revenue-sharing opportunities.

  • Established a structured model for commercial engagement, aiming to attract partnerships that enhance FIM’s operational efficiency and financial sustainability.

Enhanced Market Profile

  • Leveraged MEI’s marketing assets to promote FIM’s initiatives, including featuring FIM in newsletters, on MEI’s website, and through social media.

  • Supported FIM’s participation in speaking engagements and MEI Summit programs, raising awareness of FIM’s strategic objectives within the international events sector.

Outcome

MEI’s comprehensive support enabled FIM to streamline its host city selection, reducing internal workload and attracting Liverpool as the 2023 General Assembly host. This partnership has also fostered valuable commercial connections and enhanced FIM’s visibility in the global market, aligning with FIM’s long-term vision for international engagement and growth.

The structured and proactive approach by MEI has greatly simplified our host city selection process and expanded our network of commercial partners. Their support has been invaluable in promoting our events and establishing strong industry relationships.
