Spartan Crew operates all over the country, although for the past few years, our roots have been firmly based in London. However, as the events industry continues to grow, it's become increasingly clear that Manchester and the wider North West have a large and varied live events industry that we're excited to be part of. We knew we wanted to establish a local presence, rather than trying to service Manchester events from London. We're happy, and slightly relieved, to say that we've now been operating in the area for six months!
We were conscious of what this would mean for us. It's all very well saying we have a base up there, but what we really wanted to make sure of was the quality and experience of the crew we could supply. We've made a real effort to ensure that every new Manchester crew member, after completing our recruitment process, receives hands-on training from our experienced London crew. This meant we could launch our Manchester operation with confidence that our team had been properly trained before ever stepping onto site.
With this in mind, our Manchester crew have already been busy. They've supported a range of load-ins, load-outs, installs and de-rigs, as well as staging, barriers, carpentry, counterbalance and AV. They've represented Spartan brilliantly, helping us develop new and existing relationships with clients across the North West.

Our London team regularly head up to Manchester to visit the branch, while some of our Manchester crew have also travelled with our London crew and joined them on international projects. It's been a great way of bringing the two sides of the business together and making sure Manchester feels like part of Spartan, rather than a separate operation.
It's important to recognise that Manchester isn't London. It has its own culture, its own mindset and its own way of doing things. We can't simply transplant our London model and expect it to work in exactly the same way. Our job is to give the Manchester team the practical knowledge and training they need, while trusting them to use their own experience and relationships to build Spartan's presence in the region. They're the people on the ground, and they're the ones who will help us become part of the Manchester events community.

We're looking forward to continuing to build relationships with venues, production companies, organisers and suppliers across Manchester and the wider North West. There's a huge amount happening across the region, and we're excited to see where Spartan can fit into it.
With our Manchester team now established, we can offer the same range of crew and specialist support that our clients have come to expect from Spartan. From general event crew for large-scale builds and busy load-ins, to specialist crew including counterbalance, carpenters and AV, we're able to provide the people needed to get the job done. Having a local team also means we're better positioned to respond quickly to busy periods, tight turnarounds and larger productions, without needing to bring everyone up from London.
So what's next? More training, more crew, more relationships and more work. The goal is to keep growing the Manchester operation, building on what we've already established while creating something that feels genuinely part of the region.
We're really excited to see where the next six months takes us.
